10 Ways To Market Your Business Using Video

People like to consume information in a variety of ways. Experts have identified seven types of learning styles. However, to keep things simple, your customers will predominately prefer one or more of the following three; Text, Audio, or Video.

Even if you’re not selling video-based products, you should be using video to market your business.

That’s because different customers respond better to video than they do to text.

When you use both text and video, you’re reaching a wider audience.

This approach will eliminate the possibility of alienating portions of your audience.

Here are ten ways to market your business using video…

1)) Keep Them Short and Sweet

Whether you’re loading videos on YouTube or you’re using them to pre-sell products on your blog, keep them short (around five minutes or so)… especially if your audience includes people who don’t know you.

If needed, break long videos into multiple smaller videos.

You must always keep in mind the fact that people’s attention spans have gotten shorter.

And unless your content is extremely compelling, chances are, they won’t watch the entire video, which means they will not see your call-to-action.

2)) Post Videos on Your Sales Pages

You can use video sales letters to highlight the main points of your regular sales letter.

You can also use videos to demonstrate the product. You may also get your satisfied customers to give you video testimonials.

3)) Choose Your Keywords Carefully

If you’re loading your videos onto YouTube, choose keywords that your target market is currently using to find information in your niche.

You may also choose keywords that match those being used alongside other popular videos in your niche.

YouTube is nothing more than a massive Video Search Engine, like its cousin, the Google Search Engine.

Your audience use specific keywords to find what they’re looking for, which means you have to be very pragmatic when selecting the ones you’ll be using for your videos.

Otherwise, your videos may not get found.

4)) Know Your Purpose before You Start

Before you film, choose one purpose for your video. Is it to get subscribers? Send traffic to your blog? Pre-sell a product?

Whatever the reason, base your entire video around that singular goal.

Don’t confuse your viewers by giving more than one option.

Remember, you should keep your videos at around 5 minutes, and if you choose multiple purposes, it’ll definitely go over that timeframe.

5)) Create a Call to Action

You should create at least one call to action in your video, where you tell people exactly what you want them to do and why (e.g., “Go to www.yourdomain.com to grab Part 2 of this video – but hurry, you can only get it free for a limited time!”)

The whole purpose of direct response marketing is to get your prospects to take some type of action.

Otherwise, what’s the point?

6)) Encourage Comments

If you’re posting your video on YouTube, on your blog or other social sites, encourage comments (even controversial ones).

The more people that talk about your video, the more your visitors will return to your page to see what’s new in the discussion.

Also, YouTube will boost your rankings due to the increased interaction.

TIP: You may want to enable the Moderation Feature in YouTube that allows you to approve comments before they appear on your channel. This will give you some control over what appears and what doesn’t. While it’s good to allow free speech on your channel, sometimes there maybe comments that are extremely offensive, which can cause you to lose subscribers?

Since social media is all about being interactive, comments are a must.

7)) Use Other Social Sites to Jumpstart the Viral Effect

If you want your videos to go viral, you need to advertise them. One way to do that is to link to or embed your videos on your other social media site pages, like Twitter or Facebook.

There have been discussions in the Internet marketing world about how some of the social media giants are limiting the reach of their competitor’s content on each other’s networks.

For example; Facebook may limit the reach of YouTube videos posted on their platform.

I highly encourage you to still post your videos, because you can drive traffic to your social media platforms using other traffic generating methods.

Therefore, your visitors will still see your videos on their platforms.

8)) Blog about Your Videos

Another way to advertise your videos are to blog about them.

If you embed your videos on your blog, then encourage your visitors to bookmark them.

Hopefully, they’ll return to view them and any of your newly uploaded videos.

9)) Ask Your JV Partners to Share Your Videos

Yet another away to advertise your videos are by asking your JV partners to mention it in their newsletters, blog about it and share it with their social media contacts.

This is a great method that takes ethical advantage of using leverage to tap into another company’s prospects and customer base, without wasting money on advertising.

You could set up a deal where you share in the profits by giving them a certain percentage of the sales you generate off of their customers and subscribers.

10)) Put a Video on a Thumb Drive and Give It Away For Free

You can build a physical mailing list by putting your video on a thumb drive and giving it away for free to those who give you a mailing address.

Be sure to include an upsell at the end of your video!

I know this is bordering on old-school marketing methods, but it could work wonders in this digital age.

Why?

This is because some people still associate value with physical products that they can touch and feel.

Besides, this can help differentiate you from your competition.

Conclusion

You can use videos to pre-sell products, demonstrate products, teach your prospects, drive traffic to your sites and grow your mailing list.

Creating videos have never been easier with all of the advance software you now have at your fingertips.

The good news is that you never have to ever appear in any of them.

The biggest key to making effective videos is to pick one main focus for each, so that you can include a clear call-to-action that doesn’t cause your viewers to be confused or overwhelmed.

This simple approach will immediately let your target audience know that your videos provides solutions to their problems, and will drastically increase your conversion rates.
